Obvient’s unique packaged approach to business intelligence
compiles the distribution industry’s best business practices

Presentation Layer: FocalPoint’s user-facing
presentation is a graphical, intuitive digital
dashboard that can be customized for individual users or
user groups. For example, the FocalPoint Electric Operations solution
has pre-packaged key performance indicators (KPIs),
reports, charts, graphs and spatial mapping/rendering, that track customer
activity, crew status, event details, and network impact. Pre-package
Executive dashboards present specific, high level KPIs including financial
trends, top tier customer impact, problems and remedies, while Operations
staff dashboards include interactive maps, schematics, weather conditions,
crew locations, and other information needed to rapidly respond to unexpected
conditions.
Foundation Layer: Behind the scenes, the FocalPoint
solution utilizes Obvient’s exclusive Business Intelligence Model
(BIM) consisting of a Constellation
of business area stars revolving around conforming dimensions. Working

Presentation Overview
The dashboard-style presentation of FocalPoint’s intuitive,
real time and near-real time operational business intelligence is
completely user-definable. Each dashboard can be configured similar
to MS Powerpoint’s Templates. There are over 500 interactive
web parts representing a wide range of KPI’s to choose from,
each supporting drill down and drill through analytical capabilities.
Reports, structured queries, and scorecarding are all available from
the dashboard. Alarms and notifications are generated based on event-driven
activities and historical performance. Dashboards support intranet and
extranet web sites such as weather maps, lightning data, etc. Corporate
performance management (CPM)
and reliability centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives are supported
through data pushed to the dashboard from either additional data sources
or other dashboards.
Other related dashboards are quickly accessible from a drop down
menu, and organizational security ensures that user access is at
the correct level.
Presentation Styles
Analytic information is presented graphically to the user in in tabular,
gauge, chart, scorecard and spatial formats. FocalPoint’s spatial
rendering capabilities, utilize color-coding to visually depict the
status of locations, target areas, and key performance measurements.
Stoplight color schemes are one of many color bands, with red representing
urgency, green representing a normal state, and shades of orange,
yellow, and blue in between depicting decreasing levels of caution.
This visual depiction of data helps to instantly alert users to zones
requiring attention. And, with the dashboard presentation of multiple
data elements, quick decisions can be made regarding the root cause
and resolution.
Target compliance shading is user definable based on relative or
actual figures, and X/Y coordinates and geographic positioning systems
are supported on maps. FocalPoint leverages your existing GIS and
